West Shore Jr./Sr. High School - Construction Management Services
Consent w/o Information - 02/08/2022
Phased air conditioning improvements have been ongoing at West Shore Jr./Sr. High School since 2018, primarily funded through sales surtax. The chilled water system was designed to serve the entire school. The last phase of the project will connect Buildings 3, 4, 5 and 9 to the new chilled water system.
Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the project in an amount not to exceed $597,865.65 under their continuing contract for construction management services based on a design by DDC Engineering, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Additional administration and permitting costs are estimated at $4,500. The project will be funded primarily through capital designated for air conditioning projects. The prior phases are in audit, so remaining surtax funds may also be used once unencumbered.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $602,365.65 for connecting Buildings 3, 4, 5 and 9 at West Shore Jr./Sr. High School to the new chilled water system.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. in an amount not to exceed $597,865.65 under their continuing contract for construction management services or connecting Buildings 3, 4, 5 and 9 at West Shore Jr./Sr. High School to the new chilled water system.
