Gemini Elementary Lego Jr.-Robotics Team earned a position to present at the FIRST Lego League Jr. Championship Worlds Festival in Texas because of their placement in the local Boomtown Build Challenge.  The group is comprised of 6 students and one parent of each student (5 adults, 1 parent has 2 children going).  No school employee will be accompanying the team.  Three of the parents are the Head Coach, Second Coach and Mentor for the team, all are registered volunteers.  The group will travel by plane from Orlando Int'l Airport on Thursday, April 16, 2020 after school and will arrive at Houston's Hobby Airport on the same day.  The students will miss one day of instructional time (April 17, 2020).  The parents, coaches and mentor will be booking and paying for their own flight and transportation costs to and from the airport along with any food expenses and hotel stay.  Gemini Elementary will only be paying for the cost of the registration fee for the cost of the team, using the accounting string listed.  The group will be staying at a hotel which is located directly beside the convention center.  Each parent will stay with their own student(s) in their own room.  No room sharing will take place.  The expected cost to Gemini Elementary School is $400.  The $400 is currently available from fundraising activities and will be encumbered when the Purchase Order is opened upon approval.  No student on the team will be denied participation due to the lack of funds.

Approve the request for Gemini Elementary's Lego Jr.-Robotics Club consisting of 6 students and 1 parent of each student (5 parents, 1 parent has 2 children going) to attend the FIRST Championship World Festival Expo in Houson, TX on April 17th and April 18th, 2020.  Students will travel and room with their own parent.
