The 2014 Sales Surtax plan includes renewal of HVAC equipment at Heritage High School. The scope of work includes replacement of three HVAC units (two failed and one with non-compliant refrigerant), installation of two new HVAC units (to condition an electrical room and a server room) and relocation of six roof top units to the ground in order to reduce the number of roof penetrations and provide better access for maintenance.  

Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $241,924.13 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the project based on a design submitted by Construction Engineering Group under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services.  Additional administration and permitting costs are budgeted at $5,000. 

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used which does not require legal review. 

Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $246,924.13 for the HVAC renewal at Heritage High School. 

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. in an amount not to exceed $241,924.13 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the HVAC renewal at Heritage High School.
