Discussion

The City of Cocoa has agreed to contribute up to $85,000 for rubberizing the track at Cocoa Jr./Sr. High School. This is roughly 1/3 of the estimated cost of the project. Facilities Services is updating design documents to obtain firm pricing for the project. 

Other sources of funding will be the School Initiated Project Match Program ($37,500 has been approved), school fund raising and other capital resources. The Agreement requires the construction to be complete within two years of the effective date. 

The construction contract, with funding sources identified, will be considered by the School Board in the spring. 

 

Recommendation

Approve the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Cocoa for their contribution of $85,000 to rubberize the Cocoa Jr./Sr. High School track.
