Discussion The replacement of classroom air conditioning units at Surfside Elementary School is programed in year 3 of the sales surtax renewal program. The reliability of these units has been decreasing which is impacting the learning environment. Based on a recommendation from staff, the Indpendent Citizens Oversight Committeee approved advancing this project to year 2 (summer 2022) at its August 18, 2021 meeting. The project was designed by TLC Engineering Solutions, Inc. under their continuing contract for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering services. Canaveral Construction, Co. Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $1,105,094.52 for the work under their continuing contract for construction management services. Administration and permitting costs have been previously budgeted. The project will be funded through budgeted sales surtax renewal funds and capital designated for air conditioning projects. Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||
