The Calendar drafts for the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school years were made in accordance with Florida Statute 1001.42, which requires that schools may not start earlier than August 10^th of each year. Other factors that were taken into consideration were the results from a community survey in which respondents were provided the opportunity to identify calendar priorities and give written feedback. We also take into consideration current contractual language, FTE reporting timelines, the Florida Statewide Assessment Program Schedule, neighboring districts, and Eastern Florida State College calendars, along with our past practice.

A committee comprised of representatives from Leading and Learning, Human Resources, principals, Educational Technology, teachers and BFT met to review supporting documents and to develop calendar options for two consecutive years for consideration. The calendars were also presented to Cabinet for questions and recommendations.

Approve the 2022-2023 and Tentative 2023-2024 school calendar drafts.
