On February 22, 2022, the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) received approval from the Board to submit an application for the 2021 USDA National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for food service equipment.  We are pleased to report that our grant application was approved by FDACS and FNS will be awarded $100,000.00 in funding towards equipment totaling $130,883.32.  FNS will order the authorized equipment for this grant, and procurement and expenditure activities will be completed by September 30, 2023 per the terms of the grant.  A copy of the award is available in the Office of Food and Nutrition Services.

Recommendation

Accept the 2021 USDA National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities in the amount of $100,000 to be utilized towards the purchase of serving lines for the follwing schools:

1. Apollo Elementary

2. Imperial Elementary

3. Saturn Elementary
