9. Fall Athletics Overview
Athletics 2020.21 08.21.20cmm.pdf

Chris Moore, assistant superintendent of Student Services, began her presentation by giving a huge "shout-out" to all of the athletic directors.  She also introduced Andrew Ramjit, assistant director of student activities and said that his work on this plan and working with the athletic directors was much appreciated.

Ms. Moore emphasized that they are still holding to universal precautions and it is essential  that coaches continue to tell who is playing, where and when.  She also stressed that parents not send students to practice/games when they are ill and if there is a confirmed case in the home.  If there is exposure on a team, you are affecting 20 or maybe 50 students who will not only be away from the team, but missing instructional time which is their main focus.

Mr. Susin asked about media access.  Ms. Moore said there would have to be some discussion.

Mr. Susin asked the Board for supporting PreK issues as being one of Brevard's legislative priorities.  He also expressed dismay over the reopening plan being K-12; not PreK-12.  Ms. Cline, assistant superintendent of Elementary Leading and Learning, explained that there is a separate plan for PreK  and every day this week, Marilyn Chappee, director of Elementary Programs has sat in on an Office of Early Coalition meeting and they are making additional adjustments to the PreK opening plan.

Ms. Campbell let everyone know that the City of Palm Bay is holding STEAM Day on November 14, 2020 from 10 to 3 outside.  She also reminded everyone to complete the Census if they have not already.
