North Brevard Aquatics, Inc. has submitted an unsolicited proposal to construct a community aquatic center at Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School. This will be a privately funded and operated facility that utilizes District property in exchange for student use of the pool. 

The staff (including site administrators, facilities, legal, risk and security) met with Dr. Luke Roberson who prepared the proposal on behalf of North Brevard Aquatics, Inc.. Dr. Roberson is also the Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School swimming coach. Based on the meeting, the proposal has sufficient merit and benefit to the District to proceed with developing an outline for a public-private partnership agreement. As presented, the District would have no financial responsibility for building or operating the pool. 

The proposal is provided as information to the School Board. The next step is for the District staff to work with North Brevard Aquatics, Inc. to develop the terms of the agreement. There are also administrative steps necessary to allow use of District property for this project. If the staff and North Brevard Aquatics, Inc. can agree on the terms, then the agreement will be presented for School Board consideration later this year. 

Proceed with negotiating the terms of a public-private partnership agreement with North Brevard Aquatics, Inc. for the development of a privately financed, privately operated community outdoor aquatic center on the campus of Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School.
