Satellite High School - Facility Renewal - Construction Management Services - SALES SURTAX
Consent w/o Information - 04/27/2021
The scope of work for the 2014 sales surtax facility renewal project at Satellite High School included new chillers, other HVAC renewal and related electrical. As the work proceeded last summer and fall, the team identified additional HVAC-related improvements that will provide a more complete and reliable HVAC system for the campus. These items include replacing several more air handling units, electrical upgrades, additional controls and test & balance.
Canaveral Construction Co. Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $349,629.81 for the additional HVAC services. The supplemental sales surtax funding ($350,000) for this project was approved by the Independent Citizens Oversight Committee at its February 17, 2021 meeting and approved by the School Board at its March 9, 2021 meeting. Administration and permitting are estimated at $8,000, which will be covered by available sales surtax or capital.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used, which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $357,629.81 for the additional HVAC renewal at Satellite High.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. in an amount not to exceed $349,629.81 under their continuing contract for construction management services for additional HVAC renewal at Satellite High.
