The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the School Board of Brevard County and the Brevard County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) for District School Security and School Resource Officers is updated annually. The FY 24 MOU includes an additional lieutenant, along with the current staffing of the Office of District School Security and the School Resources Officers. The District's estimated FY 24 cost for this partnership is $3,779,500, which is $534,872 more than the FY 23 cost. The Sheriff does not charge the School Board the full cost of the program, absorbing personnel and operating costs. 

This agreement is effective July 1, 2023, and terminates on June 30, 2024. Board approval is requested so that both agencies can prepare budget proposals based on the MOU.
