Hoover Middle School - Construction Management Services
Consent w/o Information - 04/25/2023
The sales surtax renewal plan includes funding for tennis courts and track renewal at Hoover Middle School. The track and tennis courts are rated as failed. The tennis court renewal will be used by the West Shore Jr./Sr. High School tennis team. The tennis courts and track are also used extensively by the local community when school is not in session.
Ivey's Construction, Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $985,167.22 under their continuing contract for construction management services for the project. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $15,000. The Independent Citizens Oversight Committee recommended an additional allocation of $450,000 to the project. The project is funded through 2020 sales surtax and capital (approximately $375,000).
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard agreement template has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget in the amount of $1,000,167.22 for the tennis court and track renewal project at Hoover Middle School.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Ivey's Construction, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $985,167.22 for the Hoover Middle School tennis court and track renewal project (RFQ 17-Q-078-DR).
Approve the allocation of additional 2020 sales surtax revenue, up to $450,000, as recommended by the ICOC at its February 22, 2023 meeting.
