Wharton Smith Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in the amount of $438,680 for the Modern Classroom Infrastructure Readiness Project under their continuing contract for construction management services. The scope of work includes the removal of whiteboards, patching, painting, resizing of existing whiteboards, and the reinstallation of these whiteboards to create a space in between them to accept a 75” interactive flat panel as part of the Modern Classroom setup in 274 classrooms. In some cases, new whiteboards will be needed if the existing boards are not able to be reused due to deteriorating conditions. The project is funded through Educational Technology capital.

Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of agreement has been used which does not require legal review.

Approve the total project construction budget for the Modern Classroom Infrastructure Readiness project in the amount of $438,680.

Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price submitted by Wharton-Smith Inc. in the amount not to exceed $438,680 for the Modern Classroom Infrastructure Readiness project under their continuing contract for construction management services.
