Portable Classroom Relocation - Design Build Services
Consent w/o Information - 04/25/2023
The Student Accommodation Plan approved by the School Board on April 11 includes relocation of one portable classroom from Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School to Pinewood Elementary School. This will provide additional classroom capacity at Pinewood Elementary.
Canaveral Construction Co., Inc. has submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) in an amount not to exceed $147,422.35 under their continuing contract for design build services based on the Design Criteria Package prepared by District staff. Administration and permitting costs are estimated at $12,000.
The project will be funded through current capital funds remaining for portable refurbishment since there are no funds budgeted for relocation this fiscal year. A capital project is proposed in FY 24 to continue funding for refurbishment and/or relocation.
Board approval is required for purchase orders over $50,000. The standard form of the agreement has been used which does not require legal review.
Approve the total project construction budget for the relocation of one portable classroom from Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School to Pinewood Elementary School in the amount of $159,422.35.
Approve the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) submitted by Canaveral Construction, Co., Inc. under their continuing contract for design build services in an amount not to exceed $147,422.35 for the relocation of one portable classroom from Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School to Pinewood Elementary School.
