On February 23, 2021, the Office of Food and Nutrition Services (FNS) received approval from the Board to submit an application for the 2020 USDA National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities to the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) for food service equipment.  We are pleased to report that our grant application was approved by FDACS and FNS will be awarded $90,916.75 in funding.  FNS will order the authorized equipment for this grant in the coming weeks, and procurement and expeniture activites will be completed by September 30, 2022, per the terms of the grant. 

It is important to note that FDACS had only $2,063,876 available for this grant, and received 47 proposals and $3.2 million in requests for food service equipment.  Brevard Public Schools (BPS) was awarded funds based on FNS’s submission of a successful proposal that met the 2020 USDA National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities funding requirements and addressed the needs of BPS students.

Accept the 2020 USDA National School Lunch Program Equipment Assistance Grant for School Food Authorities in the amount of $90,916.75 for the following schools:

1. Golfview Elementary:  Serving Lines  $17,842.97
2. Endeavour Elementary:  Walk-In Cooler/Freezer  $73,073.78
