The Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund under the American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act: Updated Instructional Continuity Plans (ICPs)

Brevard Public Schools received the FLDOE 2021-2022 Instructional Continuity Plans (ICP) project award notification in the amount of $154,376.00. The program purpose was to provide funding to support the development of Instructional Continuity Plans (revised 2020 reopening plans), related professional activities, and plan for implementation to ensure continuity of the instructional and learning support services to communities when standard operating procedures are disrupted due to emergency situations. Participating Charter schools (2) each received a $3,000 allocation of the award to create an ICP. The BPS ICP was submitted through the Florida Instructional Continuity Portal on 9/30/21.
The LEA must address the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education’s Interim Final Rule, 86 FR 21195 by reviewing its ICP at least every six months through September 30, 2023, revise its plan as needed, and consider public input in the plan and revision. We are currently seeking public feedback on our revised reopening plan/Florida Instructional Continuity Plan on the BPS website under Helpful Links - American Rescue Plan 2021 website.

Authorize the Superintendent to hold a Public Hearing during the April 26, 2022, School Board meeting.
