Field Trip - Palm Bay Magnet High School's Speech & Debate Team to Washington, D.C.
Palm Bay Magnet High School's Speech & Debate Team, three female students accompanied by one female BPS employee, are requesting approval to travel to Washington, D.C., to compete in the National Catholic Forensics League Grand Nationals (NCFL) tournament, adherring to COVID-19 requirements, on May 27-30, 2022. The team plans to depart from Palm Bay Magnet High School on Friday, May 27th by private vehicle to Orlando International Airport then fly via commercial airlines to Washington, D.C. and return on Monday, May 30, 2022. Lodging will be at the Renaissance Washington, D.C. Downtown 999 9th Street NW Washington, D.C. 20001. Cost per participant is $1,057.63, which includes transportation, lodging, food, admissions, etc. Funding is provided by Palm Bay Magnet High School Speech & Debate funds and parent contributions. Student responsibility is $200.THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT. A tentative itinerary and event invitation with COVID-19 requirements are attached.
