Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School's JROTC, eight students accompanied by two male JROTC instructor/employees and one female registered volunteer, are requesting approval to travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the JROTC JLAB (Leadership and Academic) National Championship and tour local sites on June 24 - 28, 2022. On Friday, June 24th, students will be transported by their parents to Orlando International Airport then fly with the group via commercial airlines to Washington, D.C. Local transportation will be provided on the Washington, D.C. subway system. The group will return on Tuesday, June 28th at approximately 2:30 p.m. The event will be held at Catholic University. Lodging will be at the Catholic University dormitories 620 Michigan Ave. NE, Washington, D.C. All arrangements will be made and costs covered by the Army JROTC Cadet Command which includes all travel, competition costs, lodging and meals. THERE IS NO COST TO THE DISTRICT. 

Recommendation

Approve the request of Cocoa Beach Jr/Sr High School's JROTC, eight students accompanied by two male JROTC instructor/employees and one female registered volunteer, to travel to Washington, D.C., to participate in the JROTC JLAB(Leadership and Academic) National Competition and tour local sites on June 24 - 28, 2022.
