The following incentives, for certain transportation employees, are recommended for approval:

  1. $25 per run for carrying extra students due to a split bus route.  If the route is split between two drivers, the $25 would be split between two drivers; if the route is split between four drivers, the $25 would be split between four drivers; etc.  Dates for this incentive include January 5 -  May 26, 2023. To qualify for the pay, the employee is active on the night of board approval or is hired before May 26.
  2. $25 for all drivers having to “double back” for any uncovered routes after their first route has been completed.  This is not inclusive of those drivers who have double backs on their assigned/selected routes.  Dates for this incentive include January 5 - May 26, 2023. To qualify for the pay, the employee is active on the night of board approval or is hired before May 26.
  3. $25 per run for routing, dispatch, and assistant supervisors when required to drive.  Dates for this incentive include January 5 - May 26, 2023. To qualify for the pay, the employee is active on the night of board approval or is hired before May 26.
  4. An incentive of $2500 for mechanics, asst. foremen and foremen due to significant vacancies.  To qualify for the pay, the employee is active on the night of board approval and the date of pay-out (May 31, 2023).


The incentive proposal will be funded through ESSER, pending DOE approval. A minor amendment will be processed to revise language and increase resources allocated for this program.

Recommendation

Approve the Transportation Incentive Proposal for the second semester of the 2022-2023 school year.
